Breath of Creation
Canadian Landscape Series
Breath of Creation is a series of paintings in which nature is approached not as a view or a traditional landscape genre, but as a form of presence. The landscape becomes a state of being, the environment becomes an experience, and color becomes the temperature of emotion.
In these works, space is no longer a background — it becomes a living medium with its own inner movement. The intention is to shift the viewer from an external observer to a participant, immersed within the atmosphere, sensing its subtle tensions and quiet transformations.
The technique combines dense palette knife and brushwork with thin, transparent layers reminiscent of watercolor. Light passes through the layers of acrylic and reflects back from within, creating a sense of depth and air. As a result, perception becomes not only visual, but sensorial.
Color functions as the emotional temperature of the environment. It holds attention, evokes a state, and reveals the inner life of space — the fragility of dawn, the weight of a rain-filled sky, the cool vibration of winter silence, the warm density of grass.
Breath of Creation continues an ongoing exploration of light. Here, light is no longer a symbol or a code — it becomes a medium in itself, a phenomenon through which space declares its presence.
